Rogaland´s Inaugural Santa Run
A fun run, building on community spirit and compassion towards others
Once the Santas take to the streets of Stavanger, it´s not so much about running as about spreading happiness. Santa Run Stavanger is a fun, informal Advent event which everyone can participate in – adults and children alike, regardless of running level.
Dress up as Santa (a hat is perfectly fine), bring your friends, family and colleagues and join the fun as we run to make a difference. All profits will go directly to the Gi en jul Stavanger charity organisation, which gives a Christmas to families in need by providing Christmas dinners and gifts.
Where, when, and how much does it cost?
- Time: Sunday, 30th. November, 14:00 hrs.
- Place: The large mirror at Strandkaien, Stavanger City Centre Harbour
- Price: Adults 16 yrs. and above: NOK 200, Children up to 15 yrs: NOK 100
🎅 Programme
Up to 13:30 hrs: – Stroll through the magical Christmas Wonderland around Breiavannet
13:30 hrs: – Santa Run Warm-up to Yuletide music and festive cheer
14:00 hrs: – Official Race Start by Mayor of Stavanger, Tormod W. Losnedal
14:30 hrs: – Finish, medals, goodie bags and more fun
15:00 hrs: – Event draws to a close with a token gift lottery
16:30 hrs: – Annual lighting of the Christmas tree in the Market Square
17:00 hrs: – The Big Kick-Off! Viking takes on Vålerenga for one of the biggest football games of the season!

❄️ Pick-up information to follow
❄️ Dress code: Santa hat/suit recommended
❄️ Pushchairs and prams: Pushchairs and prams are most welcome, as well as little ones on adult shoulders
❄️ Run/walk: Both are absolutely fine
❄️ Post-run refreshments: Gingerbread cookies and beverages
❄️ Changing facilities: None, please dress according to the weather conditions on the day!
Route
The route is 2 kms. long and winds through Stavanger Centre, starting and finishing at the big mirror along the harbour. Expect festive music, smiling faces and lots of fellow Santas along the way!
Children, families, pushchairs, prams and speedy runners are all welcome.
💝 About the run and the cause
Santa Run is organised by Stavanger og Omegn Friidrettsklubb (SOFri) – Stavanger´s brand new Athletics Club! All profits go directly to the Gi en jul Stavanger charity organisation, which helps families in need living in Greater Stavanger to enjoy a better Christmas.

Fee
• 16 yrs. and above: NOK 200
• 15 yrs. and under: NOK 100 (use discount code under16 )
BEFORE YOU SIGN UP:
1. You can choose whether you want your run to be timed or not. Remember to choose accordingly in the sign-up link.
2. A fee of NOK 200 will be applied for entrants of 16 years and above, and NOK 100 for entrants of 15 years and under (see discount code below).
3. Entrants of 15 yrs. and under must use the under16 code to avail of the discount.

Do I have to run?
Not at all! Lots of people will be walking, and the main point is to have fun..
Is this a child-friendly event?
Absolutely. The route is short, safe and perfectly suited towards prams and pushchairs.
Can I bring my dog?
Totally, but don’t forget your Santa hat for you and your dog! 
Are there any refreshments available?
Ja! Yes! Refreshments will be served to everyone at the Finish Line!
